Unwanted pills? Destroy old papers? BSO takes her to Pompano Beach
DEERFIELD BEACH, Florida. – Clear out medicine cabinets. Go through the personal documents, which contain secure information and shouldn’t be thrown away, they should be shredded. Broward Sheriff’s Office will pick her up in Pompano Beach on Saturday.
BSO will host one of its BSO Operation Medicine Cabinet and Shred-a-Thon on Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pompano Citi Center, 1955 North Federal Highway.
BSO says anyone from any county can participate and photo ID is not required.
So why not just throw the pills down the toilet? There are only some drugs on the Food and Drug Administration Flush List. (Yes, there is a flush list. Click here to see it.) So it’s better to just pick them up and take them to a drug take-back program like the one on Saturday.
If you drop off prescription drugs on Saturday, you’ll receive a $5 gift card while supplies last. Needles and sharp objects will not be collected.
Why don’t you just throw the papers in the trash? Identity thieves target specific documents containing information such as social security numbers and bank numbers.
Let them shred for free and safely.
There is a limit. A maximum of two boxes per vehicle is allowed, and each box must be no larger than 16 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 12 inches high.
