Chrissy Teigen announces her fourth IVF pregnancy
Almost two years after the heartbreaking loss of her son Jack, Chrissy Teigen has announced she is pregnant again. In the very emotional announcement, she also shares photos of her baby bump for the first time.
“The last few years have been a tangle of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our homes and hearts again,” she wrote in the caption. “1 billion shots later (in the leg lately as you can see!) we have another one on the way.”
Teigen announced that she would undergo IVF again back in February. The model has always been open about her IVF journey – both her daughter Luna and son Miles were also conceived through IVF. Tragically, in the fall of 2020, Teigen and her husband John Legend suffered an unimaginable pregnancy loss when their son Jack was stillborn.
“I asked the nurses to show me his hands and feet and I kissed them over and over. I have no idea when I stopped. It could have been 10 minutes or an hour,” she wrote a few months ago in an essay after his death.

Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), including In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), involves procedures that treat both oocytes and sperm and may be recommended when other techniques have not been successful. In IVF, an egg is combined with sperm outside of the body in vitro – which roughly translates to “in a jar”.
That Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports approximately 4 million births per year in the US, which means that 1 to 2 percent of all US births annually are through IVF.

“With every appointment I said to myself, ‘ok, if it’s healthy today I’ll announce it,’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief when I hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous.” them in their announcement. “I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nervousness, but so far everything is perfect and beautiful and I feel hopeful and great. Okay, it was very difficult to keep going for so long !”
Congratulations to the beautiful family on the new addition and may Jack’s memory always be a blessing.
